Application - Architecture Interaction on Shared
نویسندگان
چکیده
Programmers who need to obtain high performance on their shared-memory multiprocessor applications are already required to modify and sometimes rewrite applications. Running low-level simulations allows the programmer to more easily see performance bottlenecks and to measure more characteristics of an application running on an architecture, including characteristics that are impractical for hardware to measure. Low-level simulation is more accurate than high-level simulation and helps prevent unrealistic assumptions from being made and allows characterizations to be made that cannot be made by existing multiprocessor hardware. We describe the Multi-multi shared-memory multiprocessor architecture and show several examples where we determined the bottleneck of an application running on the architecture by using low-level simulation. Performance bottlenecks discovered in simulation of an application on a speciic shared-memory multiprocessor are often generalizable to achieve high performance of the application on a wide variety of shared-memory multiprocessors.

Sociability of educational spaces is crucial to the quality of education because a major part of learning takes place through attending public spaces, acting in spaces, social interaction with peers, and collective life in public spaces. Sociability provides for the users’ social needs. The present study seeks to explore the development of sociability in educational spaces through increasing op...
متن کاملLacome A Cross - platform Multi - user Collaboration System for a Shared Large Display
Lacome is a multi-user cross-platform system that supports collaboration in a shared large screen display environment. Lacome allows users to share their desktops or application windows using any standard VNC server. It supports multi-user concurrent interaction on the public shared display as well as input redirection so users can control each other's applications. Lacome supports separate typ...
متن کاملAsynchronous Interaction Method for a Remote Teleteaching Session
We present a method for an asynchronous interaction during a remote teleteaching session. In a synchronous teleteaching session, the professor can view the work of students and correct them. This is provided by a shared window application. A shared window application allows collaboration-transparent, single-user application to be displayed and interacted with on multiple users’ workstations. Ho...

Although globalization refers to the global scale, as in contrast to the local/cultural dimension, it is subject to cross-cultural interaction. Hence, globalization requires global thinking based on universal concepts which allow for cross-cultural dialogue and understanding. The interaction between regional thoughts is a sine qua non of global thinking and it requires the extension of thinki...
متن کاملOn the use of shared task models in knowledge acquistion, strategic user interaction and clarification agents
In this paper, three di!erent roles of a shared task model as an intermediate representation of a task are presented and illustrated by applications developed in cooperation with industry. First the role of a shared task model in knowledge acquisition is discussed. In one of the two applications, decision support in the domain of soil sanitation, one of the existing generic task models for diag...
